My vision, as the Chief Instructor, is to always put our members into the first position. My belief is that all members can learn, practice and enjoy the Karate training. I hope that all our members could fulfill and achieve their dream in our training environment that is positive, safe, caring, as well as a fun place to learn and grow. Let's work together and make another success of year 2019-2020. Regards, Shihan, Henry Chan - Chief Instructor Dear fellow karatedo-ka, parents and friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome your return to the 2017-2018 year of Shoseikan Canada – Goju Ryu Karate. There are many reasons to train in Karate (or any form of martial art). Of course, self-defense would be one of the big ones. However, being a Karatedo-ka, we should focus on the principles, training procedures, friendship and being respectful. Karatedo is a lifelong journey in perfecting your personal character and creating harmony. The true Karate spirit is being strong to face any difficulty and hard times that come at you. Karate’s training may be difficult. However, when you overcome it, you will enjoy it. Let's work hard together and have another successful year. Your truly, Henry Chan Chief Instructor of Shoseikan Canada (Western division) The Annual General Meeting of Shoseikan Canada brings together our fellow karatedo-ka, parents and friends. In this event, we don’t only enjoy the performance and foods, but also we could see the report cards of our students thought the result of the award presentation. This is the 11th year and we are glad that we had another year of peace and success. We hope you to continue your Karate journey with us and will see you around in the next year. Team Shoseikan Canada has created mannequin challenge video on last Friday class at Vancouver Dojo. Please visit the following link and watch it. We actually took 2 videos and the version 2 will be available in a later time!

The temperature's rising, school's out of session and our Karate year comes to the end. It is time to have some outdoor fun.
On August 14, 2016, Shoseikan Karate has an outdoor training and BBQ event at Locarno Beach Park. Instead having training at Dojo, some of our new members has experienced the training on the sand under the sun. It makes the warm Summer day more fun with games and BBQ. Parents, friends and members all had a great time. Also, fare-welling to our great senior member, Jeffrey Yu, who's moving to Toronto for University. We are going to miss him for a few years. We wish that he's having a great time in the east side but never forget Karate. Please come back to our force in the future. It is our pleasure to celebrate our 10th years Annual General Meeting on June 24, 2016 at Vancouver Marpole Dojo.
Ten years for sure is a milestone and we would like to take this chance, to thanks all the parents, instructors and students. Thank you for supporting us, your efforts and contribution builds today's Canada Shoseikan. Special thanks to our honor guest, Shihan Alan Chan. Also, thanks to all the helpers and to our MC, Tiffany Mo. Your hardwork makes the success of this event. Here's the result for the 2016 Promotion Test #1 |
