ABOUT WSK SHOSEIKAN & SEKISHINKANAll-Japan Shoseikan Karate-do was founded by our Soke, Katsutoshi Ishihara, in Chiba-Prefecture of Japan in 1968. Ishihara is one of the active students of Gogen Yamaguchi, one of the world famous Karatedo-ka. Since 1971, Ishihara has travelled around the world to promote Shoseikan and Goju-Ryu Karate-do. As a result, World Shoseikan Karate (WSK) was formed and assisting the worldwide Karate development. Currently, we have over 50 Shibu Dojo in Japan, Canada, USA, Hong Kong, India, Pondicherry, Chennai, Dubai, Sri Lanka and Mexico.
In 2006, the first Shoseikan Dojo of Canada (aka WSK Sekishinkan Karate-do) was established in Vancouver, BC by Shihan, Henry Chan (7th Dan) who is the direct student of Kancho Ishihara. In 2007, Kancho Ishihara has officially appointed Shihan Chan to be Chief-in-charge and the Chief Instructor of the World Shoseikan Karate Canada Division. With the spirit and knowledge from Kancho Ishihara, Shihan Chan aims to promote Goju-Ryu Karatedo and Shoseikan spirit across Canada and America. IMPORTANT NOTE: Sekishinkan is the Canada Division of World Shoseikan Karate which is officially authorized by Katsutoshi Ishihara, the Chief Master of World Shoseikan Karate-do. Any other clubs using Shoseikan's name in Canada may be un-authorized and does not have the affiliation with WSK. |

WE ARE NCCP CERTIFIED!
Sekishinkan Karate is proud to announce that beginning September 2008, our instructors are NCCP certified. National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the recognized national standard for certification in 65 different sports including Karate. Our aim is to continually provide our instructors the tools to deliver a Karate program of the highest caliber. CHILDREN FITNESS TAX CREDIT
