Why only Goju-Ryu Kata allowed?
The original idea of this tournament is to host an in-house event for our own dojo. Once upon a time, Goju-Ryu was one of the largest karate styles in the world. As Goju-Ryu practitioners, we wish to ensure that its traditions are not forgotten. Therefore, only Goju-Ryu kata will be permitted in this tournament.

The following are the Kata that are allowed in this tournament:
- Taikyoku Series
- Gekisai Ichi
- Gekisai Ni
- Saifa
- Seienchin (or Seiyunchin)
- Sanseiru
- Shisochin
- Seipai
- Kururunfa
- Seisan
- Suparinpei

What is Open Kata Division?
In the Open Kata Division, athletes may perform any kata from any recognized karate style or system. This division allows competitors the freedom to showcase their preferred kata and demonstrate their skill, precision, and spirit.
What would be the Tournament Conduct and the Fair Participation?
-
We trust that an honest system benefits all participants. Therefore, competitors are expected to register only in the divisions appropriate to their age and skill level. If it is determined that an individual has registered in a division for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage, the tournament administration reserves the right to withdraw any awards presented and to take further disciplinary action as deemed necessary. The tournament administration team and the WSK Sekishinkan Chief Instructor reserve all rights for decision-making regarding awards or medals.
-
The decisions of referees and judges are final; no protests will be entertained.
-
Division Assignment: Registered athletes will be assigned to divisions randomly. Athletes and parents must agree and accept that absolute fairness in arrangements cannot be guaranteed. The administration team assures there is no bias in the process, and complaints or contests will not be accepted.
-
Code of Conduct: Disrespect or violation of rules may result in disqualification without refund.
-
Safety is the top priority; all matches will be controlled to ensure the well-being of competitors.
