OUR PROGRAMS

Karate programs are structured to provide comprehensive training in various aspects of the martial art, focusing on physical techniques, mental discipline, and character development. Here is a brief overview of the main components typically included in Karate programs: Kihon, Kata, Kumite, Bunkai, Physical Conditioning, Mental Training, Self-defense and Character Development.
Goju Ryu Karate lesson

YOUTH CLASS  ​(ages 8-15)

We offer Traditional Japan Goju-Ryu Karate training for students aged 8-15, including boys and girls. Through Karate training, we aim to help students achieve fitness, confidence, and the values of respect, harmony, self-control, discipline, and responsibility. Additionally, we encourage our students to participate in local, provincial, and national Karate tournaments.
In this program, students will learn Japanese courtesy, including formal sitting, standing, ceremonies, and rituals. Our training includes warm-up exercises, stretching, Kihon (basic punches, blocks, and kicks), Ido (movement), Kata, Kumite (sparring), and physical exercises.
Vancouver Marpole Dojo: Wednesday 6:30pm to 8:00pm and,
                                     Friday 7:00pm to 8:30pm


Richmond Oval Dojo: Saturday 2:45pm to 4:00pm

Karate for adult all ages

ADULT CLASS  ​(ages 16 and up)

This class is designed to balance technique and intensity. You will learn and explore the fundamentals of Karate, including Kihon (basics), Kata, and Kumite. The class is suitable for anyone looking to explore striking while also improving their general athleticism and fitness level.
Vancouver Marpole Dojo: Wednesday 8:00pm to 9:15pm

Richmond Oval Dojo: Saturday 2:45pm to 4:00pm (Self-Practice)

Karate for kid and children

KID CLASS ​(ages 4 to 7)

This class is designed for children aged 4 to 7 years old. The program is a simplified and modified version of Japan Goju-Ryu Karate, aimed at developing basic values such as discipline, respect for others, and confidence in themselves and their abilities. It helps your child develop good movement habits from an early age. The primary goal of this program is to ensure fun. There is absolutely no sparring in this class.
Vancouver Marpole Dojo: Friday 6:00pm to 6:45pm

​​Richmond Oval Dojo: Saturday 2:00pm to 2:45pm

Casual fitness karate class

CASUAL CLASS  ​(ages 19 and up)

Our casual class has no uniform requirement. This fitness class is suitable for everyone, whether you want to learn some Karate skills, self-defense techniques, or lead a healthier lifestyle. In a more relaxed teaching and learning atmosphere, students will learn and practice basic Karate techniques from a self-defense and recreational standpoint.

PRIVATE CLASS  ​(any age, member and non-member)

We offer one-on-one, or small group (up to 2 person) private training.  You will get the full attention from the Sensei during the private training. ​
The Private Class is available at Honbu Dojo with the following schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday:  11:00am to 9:00pm; 
Wednesday and Friday, 11:00am to 3:00pm
